Run, Serve, Lead!

Save the date for Feb. 4, 2018, when the North Coast People’s Alliance brings its popular political workshop to the Fortuna-Ferndale area. This two-hour event is full of practical tips on how to run for local office, how to organize or help organize a campaign, how to serve on an appointed board or commission, and how to be more engaged in your community.

Come join us and hear from a panel of local elected officials and community leaders. There will be plenty of time for questions and answers, and we’ll provide a thick packet of information on further resources and next steps. Afterward,  stay for light refreshments and informal mingling.

Run, Serve, Lead!” will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 4, at the MultiGenerational Center, 2280 Newburg Road, Fortuna. Simultaneous Spanish language translation will be available.

This introduction to civic engagement is presented by NCPA and co-sponsored by Indivisible Fortuna, Indivisible Ferndale, Centro del Pueblo and the Ferndale Enterprise.

Meanwhile, if you’re going to the Women’s March in Eureka, jump-start your political engagement by attending the North Coast People’s Alliance’s next General Meeting, beginning at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 20, at the Labor Temple, 840 E St., Eureka.
