Run, Serve, Lead! - An introduction to civic engagement

Join us for a helpful, hopeful seminar on running for office, serving on an appointed board, volunteering for a local campaign or simply becoming a more active, engaged participant in your community.

After a successful event in Arcata, the North Coast People's Alliance is bringing our "Run, Serve, Lead" seminar to McKinleyville from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 22, at the Grace Good Shepherd Church, 1450 Hiller Road.

Join us for a panel discussion featuring MCSD member George Wheeler, McMAC member Craig Tucker, community organizer and Humboldt Area Foundation Leadership Program Manager Ron White, and Northern Humboldt Union High School Board member Dana Silvernale, followed by a presentation by Arcata City Council member Sofia Pereira.

NCPA volunteers and community leaders will share inspiration, advice, and practical resources for deepening your connection with local politics. (To view the first "Run, Serve, Lead" seminar and download its resource packet, visit our resources page.)

Refreshments will be available for purchase. Admission is free, with a voluntary donation of $5/person appreciated.

Share/RSVP on Facebook.
