Come Canvass with NCPA!

  • Learn more about local issues
  • Explore our neighborhoods
  • Help build a more progressive Humboldt

The North Coast People’s Alliance is working to make a difference from the ground up by walking door-to-door, asking people about their community’s most pressing issues, and hearing their ideas for solutions.

Put on some comfortable walking shoes and join us at 1 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 3 at the Labor Temple, 840 E St., Eureka.

We provide training and materials, and we pair people up in teams of two.

Our canvassers begin with open-ended questions, listening deeply and non-judgmentally. Then we ask follow-up questions about how well local elected officials are addressing the issues people care about. The answers will help NCPA determine our courses of action in 2018 campaigns, on both issues and elected offices. Plus, people appreciate that NCPA is seeking their views. One pair of canvassers was so well received they were given fresh eggs by the family being interviewed!

Before the canvass, don’t miss our New Volunteer Orientation at 9:30 a.m. followed by our next General Meeting starting at 10 a.m. on Sunday, Dec. 3, at the Labor Temple in Eureka.

For more events, check out our calendar, with highlights from the NCPA and several other groups.
